Now, taking the length of the longest graphic card, I had to design the frame to be at least 30-35cm tall. One of the unique ideas was to install the motherboard vertically and keep the I/O panel on top, so all the cables would get from the top of the case. That is why I had to add 5cm to the height of the whole frame. The last decision was made – 20x20x40cm was the size of the main frame of the case.

To install the motherboard vertically I needed to create a motherboard tray – I designed it as a 20x17cm 2mm thick rectangle. Above the motherboard tray I put a middle panel, with an I/O motherboard section window for all the cables. The middle panel got L shape supports, right under the panel.

All the side panels were designed from 3mm aluminium sheets, to make the whole structure very stable. A triple radiator was going to be installed on the rear panel, with the inlet and outlet at the bottom. To cool the CPU I decided to use an Antec 620 cooler with 120mm radiator, placed on the middle panel. The fan on that radiator would suck the hot air from the main chamber through the radiator fins to the top of the case and outside.

After the planning part it was time to start the build. The first package that came was main aluminium parts for the frame. I started to measure all the bits and draw all the changes on the material.
